Bay Area Free Book ExchangeDo you remember those bound collections of paper—the old analog version of literature called “books?”  If you love books and that tangible experience of flipping paper pages to get to the next plot twist of the story, there is a FREE Book Exchange this weekend at the Bay Area Free Book Store in El Cerrito.

They are open from 9am – 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday (every weekend, actually), and all 10,000 books on the shelves are FREE.  You can take up to 100 books home.

Of course, the whole thing wouldn’t work if people didn’t donate books to their store.  But, one of the things I love about San Francisco and the greater Bay Area is that ideas like this actually work.  Since May 2009, the Bay Area Free Book Exchange has given away more than 364,000 free books, and currently has a stock of more than 10,000 books on the shelves.
